IMG_0382.JPGMonroe County Family Connection in collaboration with community partners CGTC, the Susan G. Komen Foundation, and UGA Extension Office hosted the first annual Faith Based Breakfast and Learn on Wednesday April 15, 2015 at the Monroe County Clubhouse. The event was extremely well attended by over fifty faith based and community representatives including Mayor Howard. The breakfast was provided by Family Connection from Forsyth Country Cookin’ and it was a delicious meal.

IMG_0369.JPGAfter the breakfast, attendees heard about free and low cost educational resources available to the people of Monroe County. Vice President of Student Affairs, Craig Jackson, also presented information about the Monroe CGTC campus. Susan G. Komen representative Rachel Hollar spoke of the grants and workshops the Komen Foundation has available as well as programming options of the UGA Extension Office through Dana Lynch. The guests were asked to make a call to action in involving their congregation and constituents to utilize these great resources. Three current GED students also gave personal speeches to illustrate the impact of continuing to pursue educational goals. A great time was had by all!
