Convener’s Café Meets to Map

Convener's mappingEducation pipeline

The Convener’s Café met on August 25th to begin mapping Macon’s collaborative groups, coalitions, and initiatives on the Ready by 21 Insulated Education Pipeline.  The insulated pipeline includes not only early childhood education, K-1, and post secondary education, but also family and community supports including health, housing, financial resources and civic/social opportunities.

“We believe mapping all of Macon’s groups and initiatives on a continuum of care will help us see where we stand in relationship to each other, and allow us to build linkages so that no child or family will fall through the cracks,” said Community Partnership director Travis Blackwell.

Groups represented at the Café covered the entire spectrum of services on the Ready by 21 Insulated Education Pipeline.

Groups represented included:

  • Big Brothers Big Sisters
  • Early Education Empowerment Zone
  • Campus Clubs
  • DREAM Team
  • Everyone On
  • Macon Arts Alliance
  • Macon Re-Entry Coalition
  • Macon Shalom Zones
  • Mentor’s Project
  • United Way of Central Georgia
  • Wellcare Health Plans
  • Women of Wisdom
  • Workforce Development One Stop
